Art for the Holidays
A cynical look at the mass consumption of junk that ends up in the landfills each year.
That is why I advocate buying art instead. It enriches your life and it increases in value. A win, win.
In this month’s work, I use a photograph of an old drawing of mine. It has the original date on it from when I finished the drawing. I then added a combination of layers photos of textured surfaces to give the image some tooth. Then I painted on top of it all to create this year’s holiday satire “Christmas Tree with the Three Wisemen Attachments Installed” following the previous works, this piece has strong influences from the art movements Dada and Surrealism.
To receive a free download of this artwork and print them up for all your family and friends this season (if you want too) just sign up for my newsletter. I include a new work every month for free.
Another win, win.
And speaking of buying art, I also offer a giclee print; signed, numbered, and it comes with a certificate of authenticity for $69. I'm not offering a framed edition this go around, as I just do not have the time to do so. However, I should be able to next month. These are very limited edition prints (the ”increase in value” thing I was talking about). As explained in the link below, this print run is open for 30 days with a maximum of 60 printed. In the end, the file is deleted.
It is all part of the Artwork Consigned To Oblivion Project you can find out more about it here: https://www.hewhopaints.com/single-post/2018/08/22/Free-Art
